Radio & Television Personality Shelley Wade
Shelley Wade grew up knowing her voice would be the essence of her career. What she didn’t know was the journey she would take while following her dreams.
As a child, Wade won singing contests, crediting music icon, Prince, for inspiring her. Her passion was driven by her deep desire to inspire others the way Prince inspired her.
In college, Wade began working for her school’s radio station, where she fell in love with broadcasting. After landing a position as a receptionist for a local radio station in her hometown of Houston, Texas, she started voicing pieces on the air when a local program director gave her an opportunity to use her voice to record promo segments for the station. Soon thereafter, the station manager stumbled upon Wade's voice-overs. He loved her voice and gave her the break she was looking for to become a radio host. She never looked back!
After several years on air in Houston, Wade decided to chase down her ultimate dream of working in New York, America’s No. 1 radio market. It wasn't long before Z100 in New York came calling. This was after being offered a position in another top market: Los Angeles. She took the job in New York and quickly became a household name with listeners and major music acts from Beyonce to Lady Gaga.
The relationship with Z100 lasted over 10 years before Wade experienced burnout stemming from several changes being made at the station. But, opportunity would come calling once again. One day she got a call from iHeartmedia in San Diego, offering her a job to host on San Diego's 95.7FM. It was just the break Wade needed to reignite her career. Wade took the job. She recently moved to the No. 1 rated STAR 94.1FM where she hosts "All the Rage with Shelley Wade".
Over the years, Shelley has interviewed entertainers like Ne-Yo, Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey. And when she’s not working on her radio show, Shelley is also a national television personality. She makes regular appearances on "The Talk" on CBS.
Her biggest advice is to share your goals and dreams with the people who can help you achieve them.
You can listen to Shelley Wade weekdays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on STAR 94.1 FM.
