Lee Brown - Mr. Brown’s

Barbershops are a staple in every community but Mr.Brown’s in North Park stands out among the rest. What started as a desire to reawaken a barbering culture in San Diego quickly became a spot, not only to get a cut, but to make a social connection.

In 2013, Lee Brown opened his shop on University Avenue with the desire to specialize in gentlemen’s cuts and shaves. From there, his business evolved into a barbershop sharply focused on offering the next level of service to customers, with attention to detail.

While he and his team focus on classic cuts, Brown is always inspired by creativity. He loves to help people try new looks that make them feel good about themselves.

To keep customers coming back, the man behind the blades wanted to create an out-of-the-ordinary feel for his shop. And he did just that. From the sights and smells, to the pool table in the back, no detail was overlooked in the making of this barbershop.

During this episode from Season One of The Block, Lee Brown, the owner and operator of Mr. Brown’s, shares the story behind his passion for his business.
